Story

Nineteen years after the events of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, the wizarding world has changed, but the past still has a few surprises in store. Based on the acclaimed book series of the same name, HARRY POTTER AND THE CURSED CHILD HIGH SCHOOL EDITION follows the next generation of Hogwarts witches and wizards. Harry Potter’s son, Albus, and Draco Malfoy’s son, Scorpius, form an unlikely friendship at Hogwarts. And in a twist that sends shockwaves through the Potter-Weasley family, both boys are sorted into Slytherin. Haunted by the weight of their fathers’ legacies, Albus and Scorpius decide to do the impossible: travel back in time and save Cedric Diggory, whose death at the Triwizard Tournament has long been remembered as one of the darkest moments of Harry’s past. But changing the past can have extraordinary…and dangerous…consequences. As time begins to unravel, Albus and Scorpius must confront the unexpected results of their choices, their families’ complicated histories, and a future they never intended to create.

Know Before You Go

HARRY POTTER AND THE CURSED CHILD is a two-act play with a 15 minute intermission. Recording video or taking pictures during the show are strictly prohibited. // HARRY POTTER AND THE CURSED CHILD debuted on London’s West End on June 7, 2016 at the Palace Theater in its original two-part form, four acts, written by Jack Thorne. Audiences saw the show over two performances, typically on the same day or on consecutive evenings. The play opened on Broadway on April 22, 2018 at the Lyric Theater in the two-part format. After Broadway’s closure due to the pandemic, the show reopened on November 12, 2021 in the revised one-performance format. The West End production will close the two-part format in September 2026 and reopen in the one-part format in October of 2026. In late 2025, Tom Felton, the actor who originated the part of Draco Malfoy in the film series, reprised his role in its adult form. The Broadway production won six Tony’s, including Best Play.
